Banana Diet

Does The Banana Diet Really Work?

Will the Western World ever cease to wonder at the results and simplicity of the new Banana Diet?

The Banana Diet, which started in Japan has now spread into the Western World and has subtly changed into what is now called the Western Banana Diet. What is different about the two forms of the same diet, the original Japanese Banana Diet that has evolved into the Western Banana Diets, that's what many people eager to lose weight are asking.

Does this diet, said by many to be just about the cheapest and simplest diet around really cause people to lose weight?

What is the western adaptation of the diet, referred to as the Western Banana Diet?

Are the terms 'western', 'morning', and Japanese Banana Diet all referring to essentially the same diet, or are there real variations between them?

The big claim of all the banana diets is that you can eat normal meals through the day, after your special breakfast, and still lose weight even without doing any more exercise then you are doing now. And it's so cheap that the Banana Diet costs no more than a cup of coffee a daily!

Costing only pennies, it's peanuts compared to any other diet!

Here are some more facts and background about the Western Banana Diet.

If you want a fun, no-nonsense and easy diet to follow this is it. You'll find it not only easy to manage but also one that's easy to keep up. And you won't be losing energy or feeling tired either! Because you'll be supplementing your normal meals with bananas, your metabolism will increase and you'll have more energy, not less.

Like a bush fire sweeping before strong winds, the news of the banana diet travelled at great pace around the world from Japan in the East to the USA in the West. The media in the USA have not been quite so excited as they were in Japan, where the fad for the diet led to a shortage of bananas in the markets!

A sales representative of fruit and vegetables wholesale company Tokyo Seika Boeki Co. Ltd., Tomoyuki Horiuchi, said: "Large stores don't have any bananas from noon, and even Ito Yokado (a major supermarket chain) runs out of them after 3 p.m."

What was the source of inspiration for the first banana diet?

It was Hitoshi Watanabe and his wife Sumiko who are credited with first publishing details of the banana diet when they announced it on the social networking website mixi.

As soon as the banana diet had been translated into English and the news media got hold of it, the news travelled by word of mouth through the modern Internet publishing circles until it reached the West, where it took on a Western flavor.

After trying so many ways and so many other diets to try to get back to his previous weight, some 60 kg lighter, when he left high school, it was only when he stumbled across the banana diet that Hitoshi Watanabe finally succeeded.

Both Hitoshi Watanabe and his wife Sumiko had a background in medicine. His wife is a pharmacist and also an expert in Chinese ancient traditional medicine while Hitoshi, when in Tokyo, had studied preventative medicine. It was this combination of old and new knowledge that led them to discovering the banana diet.

The thousands of people stripping unwanted weight from their bodies by following this amazingly effective diet are testimony to its efficacy. What astonishes many of then is that is so effortless to follow that it seems unbelievable... until they see the pounds fall away and the banana diet proves it's worth.

So if you want to lose a few pounds of ugly fat as fast as possible but don't want to start taking up running or aerobic exercises, nor to start spending on expensive pills and special foods; if you dread the thought of hunger pangs from a starvation diet, then this completely natural and effective diet is the answer to your prayers.

I know such an astounding diet seems implausible, and if that's what you are thinking, then just look at the thousands of people around the world who are stones lighter - proving the diets effectiveness. And next time you visit your local shop or store, just keep an eye on the amount of bananas for sale. It could just be that you notice they aren't quite as plentiful as before, and now you'll know the reason why! It's because the Western banana Diet is taking off in the Western World just as the morning banana diet did in Japan.
